Cozy Autumnal cocktails

Whether you’re shovelling crisply fallen leaves, returning home from a day out in the woods or in front of a fireplace with a good book, we can all agree a cozy cocktail is the perfect way to end a day. Taking our favourites as a baseline, we’ve created a sweet & sour whiskey nightcap and a fresh gin bubbly afternoon pick-me-up.

Campfire Sling

  • 30ml Dark spiced rum
  • 5ml Maple syrup
  • 2ml bitters
  • smoked orange twist

Add three pieces of ice or a whiskey cube to an old fashioned glass & pour over the rum, syrup & bitters. Stir thoroughly using a cocktail spoon, first clockwise for 15 turns then anti-clockwise for a further 15 turns. Using a smoker, release the oils from the orange zest over the surface of the glass, then drop to zest into the glass.

Earl Grey Gin Fizz

  • 40ml gin
  • 30ml lemon juice
  • 1tsp earl grey tea
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 18g caster sugar
  • 6 Juniper berries
  • 80ml water
  • 1 egg whites
  • Prosecco

Place the sugar, tea bag, juniper & water into a saucepan on medium heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar, then simmer for 4 minutes, remove from heat & add the lemon rind. This makes the syrup.

Once cooled, separate the lemon rind, juniper & tea from half the syrup, placing into a cocktail shaker along with the gin, lemon juice & egg white. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds & strain into a champagne flute.

Top with Prosecco.
